Complimentary Engagement Session

"An essential part of the SBP Wedding Experience"

All of my Wedding Packages include a complimentary Engagement Session!! I also do stand-alone engagement sessions. I believe this is an essential part of the SBP Wedding experience. This session will allow us all to get to know one another. You get to see first hand what it's like to work with me, and I get to see how you move in front of the camera, and what poses look best for you. Most of my clients say "I'm not good in front of the camera", but I assure you I will teach you everything you need to know and find the angles that bring out the best in you! Plus these sessions are loads of fun!! I promise you will not be standing there like a posed statue. I have my couples play games, move around, and interact with each other to bring out those genuine, candid smiles and forget the camera is there. My goal is for you to leave your session feeling even more connected with your future spouse than when you came.

How to Prepare.....

  • Wear solid colors- solids tend to photograph the best. Patterns are distracting and draw the eye to the outfit. Solids allow you to be the main focal point of your images
  • Dress it up, or down- if you have a fancy dress you have been waiting to have a reason to wear, now is the time! Take advantage of the fact that you will be having your pictures taken professionally and go all out! Dresses add a lot of movement on camera and flatter the female body best. If casual is more your style, a flowy top paired with a nice pair of jeans or slacks look great too! For the groom, a dressier option would be a well tailored suit, or a button down and khakis/jeans if he's a more casual guy. Just make sure his clothes are well fitted in order for him to look his best.
  • Prepare your man- Most grooms are not thrilled at the thought of having their photos taken initially, but almost every groom I photograph talks about how much fun they had at the session afterwords! Show him some of your favorite pictures of my work, and explain to him how important these photos are to you. He will be happy to oblige!
  • Colors and coordination- Both of your outfits should not match exactly, but rather compliment one another. Lighter, pastel colors photograph beautifully and work best with my style of photography. If you need help coordinating or choosing outfits, reach out to me. I'm here to help you every step of the way!
  • Prepare for a fun time- I want your session to feel like a fun date night! Between the laughs we have doing all the silly things to get great photos, to the sincere connection you will make with your spouse during our time together, your sure to leave your session on a high! Your already dressed up and looking your best, so why not get dinner and drinks afterwords to make it an official date night?!
